Favorite Weapon Type?

So, whats your favorite weapon type? The reason?

For me, I love Lances. They have the best balance of Hit and damage, like Anima magic, but also get the largest weapon only critical boost. (This is tarnished by the fact that no Lance user has a + critical bonus, but still). Lance user tend to have either very high con or speed. None mounted lance users will often excel in Defense, which is what I like, and mounted lance users will have high speed, which is widely regarded as the most important stat in game. Lances are the primary weapon for the flyers, who are incredable important in several of my stratergies, and lances animations are cool too.

so, whats your's?

Swords. I like to watch my units take down enemies with a nice, quick slash. Oh, and axes are too slow for me, and lances seem to be quite okay. Jut not as sweet as swords.

Anima magic. I like magic, dark is too evil and light is too good, so... *nods*

If I wield magic, I prefer anima as well. Maybe a bit of dark.

Anima is neutral and natural and awesome and all. *nods*

Axe may be slow, but what they lack in speed, they have in strength. I like their raw power.

with magic, my favorite is dark. Though, I've found that Light can be efficient when you get bishops (especially Rhys in FE9).

As for weapon, I'd say Lance as well. Not only are the 1-2 range capabilities better than axe, and sword which is 1 range (except for the magic ones), but they have a decent strength and make you actually have a chance of hitting. Plus my favorite classes use lances (Knight/General, Cavalier/Paladin), along with other things.

I would say bow, but you get surrounded and you're done.

Well, I'd argue that Lance is better than sword (not only in strength, but in the weakness of sword<lance). Though Lance<Axe, lance-wielders (in FE7-8 ) you had generals and paladins (and ephraim, but he doesn't count), plus the Falcoknights and Wyvern Lords/Knights, which all have good defenses, and are strong to begin with. Toss in Halberdier for FE9, and it's still effective as an argument. The axe is also slow, which gives the lance an edge, being faster. Sure, sword wins in speed, but lacks strength. Sword and Axe are on the ends of the spectrum, while lance takes the better qualities of both, dulls them down a bit, and makes it the best of the 3, in my eyes, at least.

However, in the "favorite" weapon topic, this means nothing, unless your favorite is the best. If so, Lance is the way to go.

My favourite weapon? Easy. Magic swords. Draining HP, stabbing Res and attacking from afar and are great. And their power isn't lacking in the least.

Well, magic swords when used from afar half your strength stat, so there is a big downside to them. Plus, when using magic they don't critical.

And they have few uses.

The magic swords really are worthless when you fight magic users from distance attacks.

I say that lances, ALL lances, are good. That is what I think.

When it comes to Magic, I think Light is the best. :B

And for weapons, Bows are the best. They don't come into the weapon triangle, and it's fun to attack others knowing that they can't hit you back.

I love axes. They are the strongest weapon out of the triangle. Also, it seems like you get a lot of characters that weild swords, and a few more that carry spears (originally, anyway) but there are few good characters that can properly use an axe. If you get an axeman with decent skill and speed...it truly is heavenly....

Ah, and Anima is my favorite magic. Not only strong, but it has the cheapest tomes. ^_^
